We’ve mini-updated ViScript to work with the new Wordpress 2.3 database structure. Existing customers can login to their members area to download. This is for those running Wordpress 2.3+ and if you have an earlier version, you should not upgrade. However all future versions will be based on Wordpress 2.3 so we do recommend upgrading ASAP.
Unfortunately a minor issue with the changes in Wordpress 2.3 means that ViScript does not currently categorize new videos for you automatically. Everything else works fine, but if you are thinking of buying ViScript and would prefer not to login to categorise new videos yourself, please wait while we fix this problem.
Alternatively you can simply use the script on an older version of Wordpress if it is secure. Thanks!
Well its finally done up as promised a much much more professional landing page for ViScript, so for everyone promoting this through PPC or just sending traffic to the site through your clickbank affiliate links your visitors will not be directed to the new landing page.
For everyone who is curious to see the new landing page I’m curious to hear what you think of it compared to the main page of ViScript, the new landing page is now located at http://www.viscript.com/offer.php
Based upon recent statistics about the website it seems that a large amount of visitors are leaving after only 5 seconds and then you get a few more percent leaving after 30 seconds, which only seems like registered members are consituting the longer statistics, this is something that the landing page should improve upon but I’ll have to gather the traffic stats from it for a month to know forsure which one is better.
After this weekend I’ll be releasing the newest upgrade to ViScript, it should be out no later then Sunday, so be sure to sign into the membership area of the site and look at the top notice area I’ll put the upgrade for download there and I’ll place some red text beside it saying NEW UPDATE NOW AVAILABLE, this way I won’t have to email it to everyone who bought it, just makes things quicker and easier.
So as I wanted to mention after this update is out I’m going to be focusing all of next week on a new website design, I’m not the best designer but the stats of new visitors for this site isn’t that great and I’ve created good designs in the past where the visitor lengths were outstanding so hopefully it won’t take me much longer then a week because I’ll also be going on holidays for two weeks sometime near the beginning to mid September and I want the new design up by then.
Also after September I’ll be doing another update I’m not going to go into any real details about it but I’m going to try and incorporate a video series system into the software, basically my idea is going to be you give the software all the names of the series, so you would enter the name of show 1, 2, 3, 4, ect.. then once you click the grab button it will grab all of those videos and make some proper titles for them, also I’ll be doing some posts on how to better create video sites for profit and once you get the hang of it you’ll see how easy it can be to really push out a ton of video sites all of which should have decent traffic, indexed well, and of course all of which will earn you some cash.
But that will be a little bit into the future from now, anyway let me know what you think about the new landing page, I honestly feel its a little dark but I’ll let the visitor stats determine the tweaks.
Well I was thinking about letting this new release go this current weekend but I decided that it needed a couple of more features before the release, as you may have read from the last post I was adding a lot more sources like MetaCafe, AOL, Yahoo, ect…
Next weekend when I release this new update it will include at least 5 to 8 total sources in which you can take videos from, I’ll try to get more sources included by then as well, also I have finished up a way that you can download the videos displayed on your site. So now you’ll have an option in the ViScript panel where you can download the videos you are displaying on your site, all you have to do is click the download button and you’ll be able to tweak the video with your URL, and upload it for some extra traffic or you can do whatever you want with the downloaded videos.
I’m currently working on the duplicate video issue and that will be done by this next release, basically the issue was that once you add some videos and you remove the few you don’t want on your site, the next time you re-add videos with that keyword the previous videos you removed will get re-added so you’ll have to go back and delete them, with this new release that will no longer be an issue the videos won’t get re-added but I will have an option in the settings which will allow you to re-add those videos if you wish to.
I should have mentioned this first but ViScript will now have its own WordPress panel, so instead of clicking Options—->ViScript, you’ll have a ViScript tab right after the options tab in the main WordPress panel, then you’ll have all the new features and future features on sub-tabs, this helps organize and clean things up a lot.
I know some of you wanted to have some more control over the way the automation process works but unfortunately I won’t be including any big changes to the automation in this next release, the reason for that is because its a huge job, changing the automation process to give you 100% control over everything it does will be an entire upgrade in itself but after this update I will be focusing on that as much as possible.
As I stated in my last post the ability to remove bad words in your comments has already been added and yes it will be available in this next release as well.
Also I have taken out an order with GetLandingPages.com to get a very professional landing page created for this and based upon there backup time the first design overview phase should be around Tuesday and the actual landing page should be done by Friday or the next Tuesday, I’ll make a post when its done to let everyone know, the new landing page should help the conversions for everyone doing PPC as well I’ll make your affiliate links direct the user directly to the new landing page so you won’t have to do any additional work on your part.
Ok sorry for the long post but I just wanted to let you know what I’ve been up to this last week and there is one last update which will be coming out this upcoming weekend, that update is a fully functional AdRotator, I just got the preliminary work done on it today and its in full test mode, I’m making some advancements on it by the time its released.
Basically what the AdRotator will enable you to do is easily test different banners on your pages, however it won’t currently be Adsense compatible so no tracking your Google Adsense but that is something I’m thinking about building, anyway the rotator will enable you to set however many Ad Blocks you will be using on your site, then you can set however many Ads inside of those blocks so you can have 10 or 20 different 486×60 banners for Block A and 5 for Block B, ect…
You’ll also have a full statistics page with this which will show you exactly how many impressions and clicks your ads are getting, it will also show you the click through ratio of the banner ads, I wanted this to be a really helpful addition to ViScript so I’ve made it a little better then just showing you the stats.
What you’ll be able to do is set an initial time frame so lets say 2 weeks for this example, then your ads in the Ad Block will get displayed in rotation for 2 weeks straight, after which the system will take those ads out of the test phase and begin to show the ads with the highest click through rate more often, it does this automatically so you no longer have to place 5 ads and then after a time frame manually remove the poor performing ads. Its also fully customizable so you can use whatever size Ad Blocks, Names, Ads, Ect…
Also next weekend I’ll be releasing a free demo version of ViScript, it won’t be even close to how good the paid version is because I’ll be disabling all the good features but it will give you some better insights into the program and you will be able to fully play with the demo before you buy it.
Last but not least I do plan on advancing this over to Drupal and Joomla as well as some other popular content management systems so if you are not using WordPress then don’t worry soon you’ll be able to use ViScript across multiple platforms.
That is what is on the table for the next release, now I also want to include a heat map in this next release but that is not guaranteed, I’ll have to see how much time I’ve got left but basically the heat map will give you full insight into exactly where your sites visitors are clicking the most so you can easily figure out your Ad placement for the maximum efficiency.
I plan on making ViScript into a very very powerful and useful video blogging solution, its not just going to be a simple one step plugin, I plan on making this insanely popular and insanely useful so keep in touch cause things will only improve as time goes on.
Well as you can tell this is a new addition to the ViScript website, I decided to start this blog to give you an idea of what I’ve been working on with the script, which updates are almost done and to also give you all a little bit more of a time frame for when new updates are out, I was going to do this in the forums section however I decided that the ViScript site needs an actual blog to go with it so here it is.
Currently the blogs design doesn’t really match up with the rest of the ViScript site but I’m not going to focus all of my time on creating an aesthetically pleasing blog because I’ve got plans to have the entire ViScript site including the blog re-designed by a professional designer, that should hopefully take place during the next two to three months depending on how well sales go, its not cheap to re-design a site its going to cost me just over $1500 US to get it all done.
Also I wanted to tell everyone who has begun to promote ViScript through the affiliate program that I’m working to update things to get some better conversions, first off if you haven’t seen the new front page article, its much better then the last one, I’ve gotten a professional writer to do the sales copy up for me but I’m still left with tweaking the actual design until the big re-design, anyway I’m going to be setting up an actual proper landing page for ViScript, I’m going to have it built by GetLandingPages.com and use the professional written article as the content, that way everything is up to date, clean, and very professional, all of which should help the conversion ratio.
Ok so a new update will be coming out possibly this weekend but at the latest next weekend, in this update you can expect to see additional sources to pull your videos from so you no longer are restricted to the use of YouTube videos, I’m planning on including MetaCafe, Flixya, Daily Motion, Yahoo Videos, MSN Videos, and AOL Videos but we will see by next week how many of them prove to be difficult to grab the comments from, each site is different and each takes there own certain amount of work.
Also you’ll now have the ability to remove any bad words that may be present in the comments, I’m upgrading the automation process to give you even more control and flexibility, and I’ll be including a system where old videos cannot be re-added to your site unless you want them too, a suggestion in the forum was that once all the videos are added to your site and you delete some, the next time you add more videos the ones you already deleted will re-appear so that is something you’ll be able to take control over.
If I have time I’ll be including a function which will enable you to download any video that is being displayed on your site, you’ll see your title and then next to it you’ll see a download button, once clicked you’ll be able to download the video, then re-brand it/re-upload it or do whatever you would like to do with it once that is all done.
So that is whats going on right now I’ll try to update this blog as much as possible as time goes on to keep everyone up to date and if you have anything else you would like added to this update list please toss a comment here or leave a message in the forum and I’ll see if I can implement it for this next release.
